Standardize Business Unit's Marketing Processes to Enable Scalable Growth

Challenge

Rockwool faced inconsistent marketing practices across its various operating companies (OPCOs). Each OPCO used different tools, processes, and levels of maturity, which led to inefficiencies, duplicated work, and missed business opportunities. There was no shared approach to setting up workspaces, running campaigns, or collaborating across teams. This lack of standardization slowed down time-to-market and made it difficult to scale successful initiatives. Teams in marketing, sales, and operations felt the impact most, as fragmented execution reduced the overall effectiveness of their efforts. Knowledge sharing was limited, so best practices were not reused, and each OPCO often reinvented solutions instead of building on collective experience.

Solution

We implemented a structured OPCO Activation Program to bring consistency and scalability to Rockwool’s marketing operations. This included assessing each OPCO’s workspace, deploying standardized templates for webinars and nurture campaigns, and setting up centralized collaboration tools like Jira and Miro. We created reusable assets, playbooks, and governance frameworks to guide campaign execution and knowledge sharing. Training materials and onboarding programs supported adoption, while allowing for local adaptations where needed. This approach was chosen over ad-hoc, reactive support because it provides a balance between standardization and flexibility. It enables OPCOs to benefit from proven best practices while still adapting to local market needs. The program also introduced clear governance and quality control, making it easier to measure business impact and drive continuous improvement.

Impact

The OPCO Activation Program is expected to deliver improved operational efficiency and scalability for Rockwool. By standardizing processes and providing reusable assets, the program reduces duplicated effort and accelerates campaign launches. Teams benefit from clearer alignment and better collaboration, leading to higher quality execution and stronger commercial outcomes. The structured approach also supports better data quality and ongoing improvements, making it easier to scale successful initiatives across all OPCOs.
