Chapman Bright Academy

Traineeship Program – Year 1

Ambitious graduates in marketing, business, IT, or related fields are encouraged to apply for our traineeship.

The program is designed to stretch your potential and prepare you for a career in marketing technology.

Learning and Development

In your first year as a MarTech Trainee, the focus is on personal development and building strong foundations. You will:

  • Develop your skills in both marketing and sales fundamentals.
  • Gain experience and also get certifications in key platforms such as Adobe Marketo Engage, Make, Google, Salesforce, and Hubspot.
  • Learn to apply automation, data management, AI, and integration practices in real client projects.

Alongside technical skills, you will also work on soft skills such as communication, collaboration, and consulting. This balance ensures you grow into a well-rounded professional.

Project Experience

From the very beginning, you will be part of live client projects. You will support consultants on tasks such as platform implementations, data management, integrations, and campaign setup. As your knowledge grows, so will your responsibilities.

By the end of Year 1, you will be a daily user of the tools and confident enough to contribute to client projects. This prepares you for your next step: becoming a Chapman Bright Certified Junior MarTech Specialist (CJMTS) in Year 2.

Britt Verwater - Former MarTech Trainee "Since starting the traineeship, I've gained so much knowledge. I'm supporting the consultants in projects and delivering high quality work. I'm really looking forward to develop myself even more in the coming year!"

Overview of the first year

A day in the life of Rosie, a former Chapman Bright MarTech Trainee

It is difficult to capture a “typical” day as a trainee at Chapman Bright, because no two days are the same. My role and responsibilities have grown a lot over time, so each month looks different from the last.

In general, I balance my time between certifications, project work, and personal development. That means studying for exams, supporting consultants on client projects, and setting aside time for coaching on both soft and hard skills. For example, I work with Jacques on specific competencies I want to improve, and I also spend time sharpening my technical skills through training and tutorials.

When I first started, most of my time was focused on learning the foundations of Marketo Engage and preparing for certification. As my skills developed, I began applying that knowledge directly in client projects. I now support with activities such as setting up marketing automation programs, creating assets, working with data, and helping to analyze and report on results.

Here’s an example of what one of my days might look like:

  • 08:30 – Start the day at the office or at home with a coffee, check emails, review planning
  • 09:00 – Study for certification or work on training modules
  • 11:00 – Support consultants on client projects, such as campaign setup or data tasks
  • 12:30 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – Meet with a colleague to review project progress and discuss open questions
  • 14:00 – Join a client meeting to present or support on project work
  • 15:00 – Continue project work, for example building programs or analyzing data
  • 17:30 – Wrap up, review what I achieved, and plan for tomorrow

No two days are exactly the same, and that is what makes the traineeship exciting. The mix of learning, contributing to real projects, and growing step by step gives me both confidence and energy.
